Asset Dynamics attracts Callaghan Innovation grant to advance data health software

PRESS RELEASE

Following the launch of DataFrame, an innovative data health solution for the New Zealand infrastructure sector, Asset Dynamics has received a Callaghan Innovation grant to gather evidence about the international commercial potential of the technology.

Asset Dynamics Limited announced today that it had been successful in securing a Callaghan Innovation Ārohia Seed Grant for the DataFrame data health solution. DataFrame is an innovative technology solution that seeks to solve the problem of poor data quality in the infrastructure sector. DataFrame provides infrastructure managers with near real-time feedback on asset management data risks and opportunities, enabling improvements to be prioritised and delivered.

“With over 70% of asset managers reporting that they do not have confidence in their organisation’s asset information, we believe DataFrame offers significant value,” said Andrew Gatland, Director of Asset Dynamics. “Asset data and information are only going to become more critical as New Zealand faces up to its infrastructure deficit, the need to decarbonise the economy and adapt to climate change.”

In addition to supporting infrastructure organisations to improve the safety, reliability, and sustainability of their physical assets, the DataFrame solution has the potential to benefit open data initiatives in the infrastructure sector. Open data is data that anyone can access share and use, and opening up data has significant benefits to government, the private sector and the public. The anticipated explosion in the use of artificial intelligence to improve infrastructure resilience and reduce costs will require high quality, complete and trustworthy data – outcomes supported by DataFrame.

The Ārohia Seed Grant will be used by Asset Dynamics to gather evidence on the commercial feasibility and viability of the DataFrame solution across a range of infrastructure sectors in New Zealand and Australia. It will also enable work to be completed on the solution architecture to support scalability.

This announcement comes on the heels of the release of the DataFrame solution in early May 2023, with customer implementations of the solution now underway.
