Asset Information Governance in focus in The Asset Journal

Asset Dynamics’ article “Linking Data Risks to Asset Performance to Enable Information Governmance Decision Making” presented at AMPEAK conference 2024 was published in The Asset Journal, Issue 2, Volume 18.

The article identifies the existence of a data quality gap that is impacting the effectiveness of asset management decision-making in the infrastructure sector.

Principles for closing the data quality gap are outlined based upon the asset management fundamentals stated in ISO 55000.

A practical asset information governance framework that can be implemented in line with these principles is outlined which addresses Asset Information Strategy, improvement planning, implementation, and data quality monitoring and reporting.

A case study demonstrating the effectiveness of this framework is presented based upon the application of DataFrame in Top Energy, the electricity distributor for New Zealand’s Far North region.
